Matt McElvogue is President of Teague, where he leads the company’s business, strategy, and design practice. With more than two decades in design and innovation, Matt has built his career helping organizations navigate complex problems and turn new technologies and ideas into products, systems, and experiences that work in the real world.

He works across business, design, engineering, and technology to help organizations make consequential product decisions: understanding people and their needs, defining what should be built, and shaping how complex products and systems should work. His experience spans user research, UX and interaction design, product development, systems design, and design leadership.

At Teague, Matt has led design and innovation programs for organizations including Boeing, Google, Overland AI, Axiom Space, Northrop Grumman, AWS, Waymo, and BAE Systems. His work increasingly engages with intelligent and autonomous technologies and the evolving relationship between people and the systems they use, supervise, and trust.

BACKGROUND

Before becoming President of Teague, Matt led the company’s global design practice. He previously served as a creative director at frog and began his career at Apple. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Digital Design from the University of Cincinnati.

INDUSTRY LEADERSHIP

Matt serves as Vice Chair of the Industry Advisory Board for the University of Cincinnati’s College of Cooperative Education and Professional Studies. In that role, he works with university and industry leaders to help align cooperative education programs with changing workforce and employer needs.

He also writes and speaks about the future of design, emerging technology, autonomy, human-machine interaction, and the role of design in increasingly complex technological systems. His perspectives have appeared in Breaking Defense, Design News, and Robotics Tomorrow, and he regularly speaks and participates in panels, with recent appearances at SXSW, CoMotion, and 47G’s Zero Gravity Summitt.
