For Shield AI’s X-BAT reveal, we designed and built a 45%-scale aircraft model that could make a dramatic transition from horizontal to vertical. Nearly 500 pounds and just under two stories tall when raised, the model also had to travel easily, assemble quickly, and perform reliably. Our team engineered a custom system that enabled two-person, one-tool assembly, a 60-second transition, and 40–60% lower shipping costs.
