Senior Systems Designer.
Everett, WA

The Senior Systems Designer specifies hardware, designs lighting and mechanical solutions, and works with the Industrial and Lighting designers to make sure the aircraft cabin and/or other physical environments are properly illuminated. This role focuses on developing and using expertise in illumination engineering, analysis, and rapid prototyping.

Why We Need This Position

TEAGUE may be known for its big ideas, but getting those ideas off the page and transforming them into real functioning prototypes requires loads of technical know-how and mechanical expertise. That’s where you come in.

Who We’re Looking For

Did you take computers or TVs apart for fun as a child? Did you grow up dreaming of designing James Bond-style gadgets? Do you have a curiosity and interest in understanding how lighting systems work? If you answered “yes” to these questions, then this may be the job for you. As a Senior Systems Designer you would be responsible for several phases of the development process, from initial conceptualization through release to manufacturing. Not only do you work well with others in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, you also shine at assisting in rapid prototype development, proof-of-concept, and resource planning. With your interest in learning the nuances of designing for aircraft, and participating in cutting edge lighting definition, you can brilliantly help lead in the development of lighting systems, projection, and information lighting concepts for TEAGUE clients. Your skills at setting up complex CAD models and designing systems are simply dazzling, and you can come up with solutions to tricky problems of a wide variety in a flash. And since you’re a whiz with learning new ideas and concepts, you will be able to complete key assignments—just one last lighting pun, we promise— at light speed.

What We Just Said, Now in 5 Bullet Points (a.k.a., Essential Qualifications):

  • Experience: Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited (ABET) university; Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering desired; 5+ years of continuous work experience in mechanical systems or lighting related design desired; hands-on experience with rapid prototyping and, specifically with electro-mechanical and lighting systems is a plus
