Design Research Intern.
Everett, WA

The Design Research Intern is responsible for supporting the Research & Strategy team with several research-related tasks, including data collection, entry, and analysis, field work, interviews, literature reviews, market/competitive analysis and presentation preparation. The position demands experience and knowledge of research methods as well as a willingness to learn new techniques. In turn, TEAGUE will provide valuable experiences with client interaction, project development, and exposure to a successful design consultancy.

Why We Need This Position

We want our clients to be happy. The best way to bring about all that happiness is to find out exactly what people really want in the first place, so that we can innovate to meet their needs. To do that, we need to talk to them and gather information about what they want. We also know that diverse perspectives, fresh insights, contagious energy and developing talent are the keys to shaking things up and helping us look at things in new ways. That's where you come in.

Who We’re Looking For
You are insatiably curious, and your working motto is “Knowledge is power.” You love the prospect of gathering relevant data and organizing it in such a way that it informs the creative process and helps bring about innovative solutions to complex problems. At TEAGUE, the Research Intern serves as a crucial link, doing rigorous exploration and analysis and then communicating that to designers. On any typical day, you may find yourself working to define answerable research questions and developing protocols; using a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods to come up with actionable insight; and collecting, analyzing, and preparing research findings to present to various audiences. You’re not only a crack researcher, but a solution-oriented type who’s equally capable of fruitful collaboration and working effectively on your own. You don’t shy away from ambiguity; indeed, you relish it as an opportunity to think critically and creatively. If the idea of contributing your talents to a multi-disciplinary team of researchers, designers, and strategists helping to build a brighter future appeals to you—and you’ve got the kind of sensationally organized mind we need—we’d like to hear what you’ve got to say.
